  Tom always goes the extra mile for the families. I have had so many family members at Hessel Cheslek Funeral Home and every time Tom and his staff treated us as the only family he was working with even though I knew different. Very professional, kind and friendly. Sparta is so blessed to have this funeral home to serve the community. Thank you, Tom.

  Go somewhere else. My friend was buried yesterday and Tom Cheslek told the deceased's best friend that he was going to hell and that he, myself, and other friends and family members were not welcome at the burial per the request of a couple family members that "loved" him so much they didn't pay for the services. We got an apology when he realized who paid him but it is too late. I wasn't able to attend the burial and I will never get that opportunity again.

  Both my parents passed within 4 days of each other and he has gone out of his way to ensure we receive the services we want for our parents. He makes suggestions, offers solutions and even allowed us to put painted handprints on the casket. He has buried members of my extended family with respect and a sense of humor to ease the burden.

  Tom Cheslek has, unfortunately, helped to bury most of my family in the last 10 years and I respectfully disagree with the other review posted. He's always been more than willing to work with us in regards to payment and also is one of the most kind hearted individuals I've ever met. He can be a bit gruff at times but I've not seen anyone more willing to go above and beyond to help a family.
